I Finally Pulled the Trigger on a Famous Box Mod Clone

Vaping Blog 1 1562

I’ve been waiting to purchase the Duke, but I have been eyeing a couple other box mods. I want a Vapor Shark DNA 30, I want the Duke Mod, and I do want a Hana Modz DNA30. The problem is this… the Hana Modz DNA30 is $250. Now that there are so many clones, counterfeits, or whatever you want to call them, I would be concerned about buying one from any company other than Hana Modz themselves. The fact that Hana Modz is sueing everyone is a little bit of a put off as well. I don’t want to get deep into my stance, but I am on the fence really. I see both sides but I do think that Hana Modz could have handled the whole thing much better.

Speaking of Hana Modz, they have just filed suit this week against 2 more companies. One of them in South Carolina and the other in Texas. More information can be found at Vapor Joe’s. Joe has also posted today that the court documents from the lawsuits are now online and public. Apparently Hana Modz is after $150k in the lawsuit. Ouch.

Back to the subject at hand… I have purchased a clone of a Hana Modz clone. This one has no Hana Modz markings on the mod, packaging, or anything.

I ordered this in red from 101Vape. I was concerned that this was for the box alone because the listing shows empty boxes in 2 of the photos. I spoke with someone and was ensured that it’s actually a DNA30 device. That would have sucked pretty bad to order hoping for the actual mod and get an empty box.

I found this image on Reddit that concerned me a little about clones, but I’ve watched some comparison videos that bring up good and bad in both the clones and the authentic version.

What do you think, would you buy a clone of the Hana Modz v3?
