Caliburn G Pod System by Uwell Review

Caliburn G Pod System by Uwell Review

Uwell is a renowned manufacturer of vaping devices and they are known for their amazing tanks and vape kits including the Crown 4, Valyrian II, Amulet Pod Watch, even the Koko Pod Kit and the original Caliburn. The original Caliburn set a standard for pod kits, it’s no wonder the anticipation over the release of the new Caliburn G Pod System. The device has a big shoe to fill, that’s for sure.

The Caliburn G may look similar to the original Caliburn, but a closer look reveals that they are not even of the same category. The Caliburn G uses replaceable coils. There are also two airflow options allowing you to choose from a tight MTL or a loose MTL, but that is not all that the Caliburn G has to offer.

Kit Contents

  • 1 x 1.0 ohm Caliburn G Coil
  • 1 x 0.6 ohm Caliburn G Coil

The entire Caliburn G kit is available on Hazetown Vapes for $32. It even comes in some new colors, in addition to the ones the original Caliburn came in.

Design

The Caliburn G measures 108.3 mm x 22.5 mm x 12.6 mm making it almost the same size as the original Caliburn, just that it is a bit wider and thicker but it is still a compact and lightweight vape device. You would not have any issues carrying this one around. The main body is made from aluminium alloy so it is sturdy and looks like it can stand the test of time.

The front and back faces sport ridges that add a nice design feature while giving the device a good grip so it doesn’t go slipping out of your hand. There is a gold accent around the fire button and the Caliburn print that is above the small LED light is toned down rather than being white like it was on the original. The LED indicated the battery level:

  • Green: 60-100%
  • Blue: 30-60%
  • Red: 0-30%

Inside the chassis is a 690mAh rechargeable battery that can keep you vaping for a long time when vaping at 15W. At the base of the device is a USB-C charging port.

The mouthpiece of the pod is redesigned. It is large on the outside, but the airflow hole is much smaller. The pods click into place at the top of the Caliburn G. They are clear so you can easily see your ejuice level. You can refill the pod by removing the top cap and filling through a red aperture. There is a silicone membrane that helps to keep the ejuice inside the pod, minimize leakage, and reduce spills. There is also an air inlet at the base of the pod that allows you to vape DTL or MTL depending on how you rotate it.
