ECCR’s Smok TFV12 review is wrapped up & I did so in record time. I spend at least two weeks with every product before issuing a final review. Not this time. When I began to experiment the new “Cloud Beast King” vape tank I knew one thing almost immediately. I would not require a week on this one. This tank is insane! That’s the word that keeps coming to me & it is not a word that I use often. But the Cloud King is crazy. A 12 headed coil that can take 350 watts. Yes, 12 directed coils capable of making 350 watts. I mean you can simply imagine the vapor? & it is the great density of the vapor. That’s just the beginning. This thing is insane. Okay, I’ll stop saying that now. But it is.
A Look at the Contents
The TFV12 Cloud Beast King comes in the usual SMOK packaging – a rectangular cardboard box, with a picture of the massive tank on the front, & a short but flattering description of the device, a list of contents & the m&atory warnings, on the back. If you’ve ever used any SMOK outputs before, you apparently already understand what to expect, as the company has been following this line for the last couple of years.
Inside the box, I have the massive TFV12 tank placed in a Styrofoam holder, &, underneath it, I have two spare coil heads, a backup glass tube, a couple of vape b&s & a bag of extra o-rings & gaskets. There’s also a user guidebook, but it’s pretty necessary, so if this is your first advanced sub-ohm tank, I suggest buying something else, because this atomizer is aimed at experienced vapers only.
I was surprized & disappointed to see that SMOK hadn’t included an RBA base in the kit, but I later found out that the Chinese company offers two package variants, one that only comes with two RBA bases, & one with three distinct types of disposable coil-heads. I got it latter for this review, but the right news is that you can purchase both the dual-coil RBA or the triple-coil one, separately.
Design & Build Quality
SMOK has been making it’s TFV sub-ohm tanks bigger with each new release, & the TFV12 is no different. This is a huge tank, so if you like them small & stealthy & don’t care too much for giant plumes of warm vapor, this is presumably not for you. The TFV12 tank has a diameter of 25 mm at the base, but it balloons to 27 mm in the glass portion, to accommodate the gigantic coil-heads, as well as 6 ml of e-liquid. It’s also 70 mm tall from the base to the top of the drip tip, & weighs 91 grams. Overall, it’s taller & has a larger diameter than the SMOK TFV8, which makes it the largest tank I have ever used.
Vaping The TFV12
H&s down the most vapor that I have ever experienced. That involves dripping on a mech back in the day. Vaping the TFV12 provides the most vapor of any atomizer that I have ever tried. Listen, after only a few days of vaping the Cloud Beast King, I jumped right into finishing the Smok TFV12 review because the incredible performance is immediately noticeable. The coils don’t have to break in they are unusual from the first hit. I have to show you more about the vapor.
You can chuck huge clouds with the Cloud Beast King. The TFV12 will produce more vapor than you have probably experienced before. But a human being’s lungs are only so big. You will probably throw more significant clouds regarding distance, but that is not where you will notice the actual difference. Where you will feel the variation is in the density of the vapor. I am talking about dark, thick vapor. It’s incredible.
You will go through more e-juice, but that e-juice is being very efficiently converted into the richest, thickest & flavorful vaping of any tank. That’s my story. Sticking to it.
Intense Nicotine Hits
So, big note here! You will be inhaling more vapor & more nicotine. I enjoy a 3 mg VG e-juice. At 3 mg I get an entirely satisfying vape. With the TFV12 tank, 3 mg hits like 6 mg or even more. A lot of e-liquids now are coming out with a 1.5 mg nicotine level & that’s what I would suggestfor the Cloud Beast King.
Speaking of the nicotine was something that I wanted to make clear in my Smoke TFV12 review. Honestly, it takes me back a couple of years to when the Atlantis came out & sub ohm vaping took off & became the mainstream. I enjoy st&ard vaping with a 12 mg nicotine e-juice. Of course going to sub ohm there is a lot more vapor, so I found 3 mg to be my preference.
The TFV12 Cloud Beast King tank is almost like going from st&ard vaping to sub ohm. The math needs to be recalculated because there is so much vapor. I think you might not believe me & that’s cool but trust me, after you experience the performance of an authentic TFV12, I have a feeling that you will agree. The ad then you will be doing like I did & ordering some 1.5 mg vape juice!
Smok TFV12 Coils
Smok TFV12 coils are, in my opinion, the main innovation of the TFV12. It is the coils that propel this tank onto our list of the best vape tanks. There are six different Smok TFV12 coils to choose from. Of those six, four of them are pre-built coils. I love the pre-built coils from Smok because they let you enjoy high performance vaping just by swapping coils. You don’t need to build your coils anymore. Coil building is still enjoyable for many vapers although no longer required to experience the ultimate in vaping enjoyment.
When you buy the TFV12 kit, you will get the V12-T12 twelve headed coil. The V12-T12 coil is the one that will h&le 350 watts. As mentioned earlier for the Smok TFV12 review I could only go to 300 watts because that’s as high as the quad 18650 Wismec Reuleaux RX300 & the Koopor Primus I own will go. But don’t worry daring vapers, 350-watt mods & 400-watt mods are coming. That’s insane, too. I can’t imagine thing going much further, but I am surprized to see coils that can be vaped at 350 watts. My head doth spin.
“Not for the faint of heart, the SMOK TFV12 Cloud Beast King is a dangerous cloud-chasing sub-ohm tank. Make sure the mod you want to use can take advantage of what this tank can do, otherwise, look to picking up a new, more powerful mod. You won’t regret it.”

How Does the SMOK TFV12 Perform?
Now anyone who tells vaping doesn’t set off smoke alarms needs to go & talk to my 20 or so neighbors.I live in a newly built set of flats [apartments if you’re posh] with state of the art fire alarms. Now with both my large windows wide open, I took a few pulls on the V12-T12 coil & within seconds my pretty large room was full with vapor.
Unlike any other clouds, I’ve produced before this vapor just seemed to hang there!I waved my arms around like a loon for a bit & if I’m honest it was like boxing c&y floss!
Boy is the vapor dense!
Anyway – long story short – I spent the next half an hour tooting away on the three different coils & loving it – so much, so I had a big stupid grin on my face the full time – vaping on the TFV12 is fun!
Call the Fire Brigade!
However.I unlocked the door to visit the bathroom & within 3 seconds the fire alarm in the building was triggered & holy crap is it loud!
Cue disgruntled neighbors in their PJs with little wide eyed kids crying on the l&ings.
They knew it was me as the readout was flashing my flat number for all to see. I guess opening the door & seeing a huge gray sweet smelling cloud filling the hallways was a bit of a giveaway too lol.
Anyway if that doesn’t show you how the SMOK TFV12 performs then nothing will.
The vapor production is intense – it’s thick – dense & seems to have substance lol.
Flavour wise I’ve not been that surprised with the Baby Beast or the Big Baby Beast if I’m honest – but Smok seems to have cracked it with the coils I tried.
OK after letting this soak for a good twenty minutes I took it from 100watts to 250watts.
At 100watts it was a cool vape but with a decent flavor. The clouds were impressive, to say the least, & smashed the vapor production from the Big Baby Beast.
However, once I’d gone through the gears so to speak, I hit the 250watts & just Wow!
Never mind clouds for days or weeks we’re talking no sun for months lol.& at 180 watts the flavor was stunning.
By far the most sensible of the coils you get with the kit coming in with a sweet spot of around 120watts.
Once again cloud production was phenomenal & the taste as good as I’ve felt on a Smok stock coil – yeah even as good as the flavorsome low wattage SMOK Brit tank .
I did try to max this one at out 200 watts & things got a little warm with the flavour dipping considerably giving me not quite a hard hit but the threat of one.
This is the coil with the bolt cut-out juice flow holes, so I was anticipating fireworks from this one.
I took this beauty from 60watts to its max of 190watts in 20-watt increments.
At the lower end, clouds were amazing while taste was weak.
I didn’t like the vape at 190watts as again it bordered on the threat of a hard hit – not that I got one, but I wouldn’t chain vape at that wattage if you catch my drift.
However at 165watts, the feeling on this coils blew me away – it zinged off my tongue with clouds to die for!
As to the longevity of the coils, I am currently reviewing Smok’s AL85 kit that comes with the Baby Beast tank.
It might be my bad luck, but I am getting no flavor & tons [I mean tons] of hard hits after just one day with both the coils included in the kit – see my review soon.
I have used 70/30 & 80/20 VG & PG e-liquids on the SMOK TFV12 coils & a week later they are all performing & wicking well – & that’s using them every single night at high wattage.
What I Like
OK & no I’m not a cloud chasing wannabe lol – but I think this tank is fun with a capital F.
It might have pissed my neighbors off lol but it put a much-needed smile on my face – it is brilliant.
cloud beast king baby beast big baby beast
king – big baby – baby
Sure it’s not the tank you take to the pub – unless you have a very underst&ing l&lord lol because never in the history of the vaping phrase ‘this chucks’ has it been truer.
The TFV12 Cloud Beast King spews out clouds just like the volcano depicted on the box.
The cloud production doesn’t diminish the flavor either coming close to the Doge III dripper I’ve taken to using in the evenings – high praise indeed.
I love the design – the knurling makes this beast look as bad-ass as it is – yeah even the lovely rainbow color I got haha.
On a technical note, the much larger fill port is a solid improvement & as to the airflow well as you might guess it’s just mental – think a wind tunnel testing a sports car lol.
& despite all that airflow, it’s reasonably quiet too.
I know it’s a big tank but given its design – slim around the bottom & broad at the top – it had no overhang as such on my Aspire Archon mod or believe it or not my Innokin Coolfire IV TC 100.
- bigger than a pebble cloud beast king
- greater than the Innokin Pebble
- Sure there’s the tiniest amount & sure it looks daft lol but actually if you wanted to you could fit it on a smaller mod.
Indeed it looked pretty funky on my Smok Stick V8 – but looks & overhang isn’t everything – this vape tank needs power lots of it if you’re going to get the best out of it.
& Gift is coming
What I Don’t Like
The juice consumption.
Look if you’re driving a high-performance car you’d expect it to be gas guzzler – well it’s the same with the SMOK TFV12 Cloud Beast King.
As I said at the start this is as thirsty as a bloke coming out of a desert after a month – boy does it drink!
& given it’s a 6ml capacity & given the coils are stuffed with cotton – your first few fills will see that increase as the cotton soaks it all up.
You might need to go down the DIY e-liquid route to keep this beast fed & watered.
Like a dumbass I used a popular expensive e-liquid & got through a 30ml bottle in fewer than 24 hours – now that hurt my wallet lol.
So aside from the fact you will change climates wherever you vape & you will need to walk around with a Jerry can fill with e-liquid & you will need a mod that will at least hit 100watts upwards – there’s not a lot to dislike 😉
- 6ml capacity
Larger fill port
Variety of coils including 12 cylinder monster
Intense, dense unbelievable clouds
- Thirsty & I mean THIRSTY
No RBA in the kit – that comes separately
Clouds are crazy so watch where you vape lol
Not TPD compliant
